Here are the treatments that we can get started with. The treatments are very nice on their own, but can also be combined according to your own preference for a greater effect. Together with your wishes and needs, we will work to make a good start to a great start to your motherhood. In addition, I provide you with handles to continue to take good care of yourself in the period afterwards, based on rituals.

It may be that, after you have given birth, you notice that you would prefer a different (combination of) treatment than initially thought. Don't worry, it's always fine to adjust your postpartum treatment plan after giving birth. For all treatments, we take into account certain wishes and any contraindications after your delivery to ensure that you can experience the best effect of the treatments. This way you get a tailor-made maternity treatment. It is important to take good care of yourself because that way you can also take better care of your child.

* All treatments can have many benefits, but if they are not used or applied properly, they can also have a counterproductive effect. Yoni steaming/vaginal steaming With vaginal steaming you sit, warmly enveloped in a quiet environment, on a wooden steam stool. With the help of specific herbs and the steam, this brings awareness and relaxation to the vagina and your pelvic area. An area that may receive some extra attention after giving birth. The gentle steam feels pleasant and warm. This relaxes / softens the tissues of the vagina and cervix as well as the pelvic floor muscles. In addition, vaginal steaming helps to clean the uterus and vagina, among other things. Steam is known to be a perfect cleaning agent and has been proven to work on a cellular level. You also work with heat and circulation during vaginal steaming, which promotes healing and recovery. In addition to the physical benefits, vaginal steaming also has an important emotional aspect. This is often the first moment of reflection after giving birth and gives you the space to check with yourself how your pregnancy/delivery has been and how you feel now. And experience / feel those feelings at that moment tomorrow. In some cases you see that a lot can be released emotionally.

Vaginal steaming therefore has an effect on our physical, emotional, mental and energetic body. Vaginal steaming can offer a solution in many different situations. In my treatments, however, we make use of the benefits during the postpartum period.

During the maternity period, a yoni steam can support specific situations such as:

  • helping to remove vaginal bleeding and shorten its duration;
  • reducing swelling of the skin;
  • reduce hemorrhoids;
  • promotes repair of ruptures and sutures, faster and better wound healing;
  • help close the birth canal and prevent prolapse (steam has a lifting effect on the uterus and organs);
  • support the body in returning to its pre-delivery state (including muscles, tissues and organs);

Postpartum massage When you have just given birth, a new phase begins. One for which most women are less often well prepared than for the birth itself. Of course very understandable because giving birth is a big part of the journey to parenthood. But after giving birth it doesn't stop. Then it only begins. A lot comes at you in the first days after giving birth. Some extra attention for your physical and emotional recovery is not a luxury. Women who take good care of themselves can ultimately also take better care of their children.

A body massage can be a first step after childbirth in promoting your recovery. Often a massage in that first period offers you the first real moment of rest for yourself. A moment when you can stop and pay attention to yourself. Often this is when your processing begins and you can start focusing on your recovery.

During the massage I use a wonderfully nourishing oil in combination with various techniques such as Thai massage, Shiatsu, Reflexology and Abyanga.

Benefits of a body massage:

  • helps in the emotional transition and removes blockages;
  • supports blood circulation;
  • Works on a cellular level and therefore has an anti-inflammatory effect and promotes muscle recovery;

Moxa Moxa is a treatment that has its origins in Traditional Chinese Medicine. A special stick of compressed mugwort is used for this. This stick has a deep warming effect for your body. By treating specific points around the abdomen, lower back and certain acupuncture points in the hands and feet, blood circulation is improved and fatigue and tension are reduced. Moxa works on many layers in the body. Both the physical and emotional stress that arose during childbirth can be recovered more easily through the energy flow. The heat also has a soothing and relaxing effect.

Advantages of Moxa are:

  • returns heat to the body;
  • reduces fatigue and tension;
  • improves blood circulation and thereby supports recovery;
  • gives the life energy (Chi) a boost.

Bengkung belly binding In a Bengkung belly bind we use a 10-17 meter long fabric that wraps the area from your pelvis to your ribs. This supports your ribs, abdominal muscles, organs and pelvis after giving birth. It is a very effective and supportive way to help you recover after giving birth. A Bengkung belly binder helps with healthy blood flow, reduces back pain and ensures a good posture during feeding. Wearing this improves your posture and stabilizes your ligaments. In addition, the period of blood loss after childbirth is often shorter because the use of the Bengkung abdominal binding can accelerate the process of bleeding.

You can often experience an 'empty' feeling in your stomach after the birth of your baby. The Bengkung abdominal binding allows you to feel supported and carried. Belly binding therefore provides physical and emotional support during the postpartum period.

The use of the Bengkung belly bind originates from Malaysia. We used to use a similar abdominal binding in the Netherlands, namely the closing sheet. However, it was thought that this would relax the abdominal muscles. However, this is an incorrect assumption. When you use the Bengkung abdominal binding in the right way, it can provide a lot of support.

Preferably wear the Bengkung 12-24 hours a day for 7-10 days for the best effect. After 6 weeks it is important that you start using your abs again.

Wrapping the Bengkung belly bind is not difficult. It can be nice to make a small ritual for yourself on the days you wear it. Think of it as really a moment for you, when you take care of yourself with love and attention.

  • brings the abdominal muscles, organs, ribs and pelvis back together;

An abdominal binding is possible from day 5, but after a caesarean section we wait until the wound has healed (about 2-5 weeks).

* If you want to keep the Bengkung abdominal binding to do it yourself more often at home after the treatment, you can do so at an additional cost of € 35. I will of course explain how to tie it. You will also receive a digital tutorial so that you can see it for yourself when you get started.

** Rather not use a ready-made closure system yourself, because they usually only wrap the waist, so that they can force the organs and pelvic floor down. This can cause subsidence. When using a Bengkung abdominal binding you can wrap it to size so that it provides exactly the right support.
