Additional care and rates

Basic obstetric care is covered* by the basic package of your Dutch health insurance. These amounts are set by the Dutch Healthcare Authority. If you do not have (Dutch) health insurance, these costs are your responsibility.

* Blood tests, medication, certain ultrasounds, and a contribution towards the outpatient delivery may be deducted from your deductible.

Doula care during childbirth in the event of an induction, for example

If your labor does start under the care of a gynecologist, I can offer you "doula care." This means I'll provide emotional and mental support during your labor. I'll coach you, help you with pressure point massage, and oversee your birth plan and wishes. This way, you'll have a familiar face to help you maintain your autonomy during labour.
Baby-wearing consultation

Would you like to try babywearing? But aren't sure which baby sling or carrier you should choose and how to put it on? Then I'd be happy to visit you to find out together which babywearing style suits you.
Reflexology massage

Reflexology is not only wonderfully relaxing, it can also help improve a wide range of pregnancy ailments. These include nausea, fatigue, early-stage high blood pressure, hemorrhoids, and back and pelvic pain. It can also give labor the push it needs.
Coaching per one hour session

Individual coaching sessions are also possible. Maybe you want to talk about limiting beliefs from your environment (think: all women had long, difficult deliveries or I'm afraid of...) or about a specific topic that is going on in your life at that moment, then we can work on this together.
Contraception consultation

Family planning is important, not only for having children but also for not having more children once you feel your family is complete. I'll discuss the options with you, and together we'll determine the best choice for you. Starting next year, you can also come to me for IUD insertion or removal.
Preconception consultation

The desire to have a child can be a strong desire or a path filled with uncertainty. Would you like to know more about this, for example, whether you have an increased risk of birth defects, what influence your age has, or what a healthy lifestyle is to prepare your body for pregnancy? We'll take the time to discuss everything in detail, as an appointment lasts 60 minutes.
Guide to the Gynaecologist's Consultation

Something may happen during your pregnancy that would lead to a hospital birth. You will then first have a consultation with the gynecologist. If you have specific wishes you'd like to discuss or would like to consult with someone, I can accompany you to the gynecologist's appointment. Together, we will discuss a follow-up plan in consultation with the gynecologist that honors your wishes.
Baby Sling/Baby Carrier Rental

You can borrow a baby sling or baby carrier from me every week. This way, you can try out whether this is a comfortable way to carry your baby without having to buy a new one right away.
Birthing Pool Rental
€130 total package
You can rent a birthing pool from me for a few weeks. Everything is included: the pool itself, of course, but also the inlet and outlet hoses, your personal cover, an inflation pump, a thermometer, manuals, special removable handles to hold on securely during labor, etc. Ask about all the options regarding size and timeframe.
Skippy ball
€10 per 4 weeks
A skippy ball can be a solution if you experience back and/or pelvic pain during your pregnancy. The skippy ball is also a great solution during labor because you can rest and sit while still moving your pelvis. This allows your baby to descend properly and assume the correct position.
